Willie Rape |
Willie New Rape, 87 of Marietta, died
Tuesday September 13, 2005. Services will be 11:00 a.m. CST, Thursday,
September 15, 2005, at Ruhama Baptist Church, Ft. Payne, Alabama with
Rev. Ben Brown officiating. The body will be at the church at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be at Walkers Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Rape was a member of the
Decatur First Baptist Church. She was a former resident of Clairmont Oak
Senior Living Community and former member of the "Wood Bees" Band. Mrs.
Rape retired from Rich's in Atlanta, Georgia and was an avid Braves
fan.Survivors include three daughters & spouses, Emma & Kenneth Turner
of Marietta; Kathy & Wayne Kelpen of McDonough; Patsy & Philip Howell of
Fayette, AL; two sisters, Grace McMichens of Marietta; Nettie Rogers of
Cayce, SC; one brother-in-law, Millard McCallie of Ft. Payne, AL; five
grandchildren, four grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Family request no
flowers but contributions may be made to Hospice Atlanta, 1244 Park
Vista Drive, Atlanta, GA 30319 or charity of your choice. Family will
receive friends Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Mayes Ward-Dobbins
Funeral Home, Marietta, Georgia.

Mrs. Gladys Rape Merritt,
81 died Monday, Oct 31, 2005, in Hendersonville, NC. The funeral will be 11
a. me today at Mahaffey Funeral Home chapel in Lancaster, with Bobby Rape
officiating. Burial will be at Salem Cemetery (Heath Springs). A native of
Union County, NC Mrs. Merritt was a daughter of the late William Washington
and Sara Elizabeth Brantley Rape. She was a homemaker and was a member of
Heath Springs Baptist Church. She was the widow of James Walter "Tee"
Merritt. Surviving are two sons, Randy Merritt of Taylors and James Clark of
Marshville, NC; three sisters, Norris Funderburk of Lancaster, Ruby Parker
of Monroe and Dorothy Jewett of Kershaw; and two grandchildren. Memorials
may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P. O. Box 7044 Columbia, SC
